Chilton, Bailey, Bertram, and Gregory Visit Victory Lane at Lake Cumberland Speedway
Burnside, KY-June 2, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway would pay $1,200 to win the Super Late Model feature event on Saturday evening and Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY would lead the entire 25 laps to gain the victory. Other feature event winners would include Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Goble Bertram of Monticello, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Adam Gregory of Gray, KY in Front Wheel Drives.
The 25 lap Super Late Model feature event would see Michael Chilton jump to the race lead after a opening battle with Michael Asberry and Chilton would never be headed throughout the event, only being slowed by the caution flag for a spin by Randy Ridner. Once action resumed, Chilton would again pull away from the pack and see the checkered flag first aboard his Central Painting/Chilton Lawn Care/Dial Painting/Blue Moon Farms/FYS Race Products sponsored #97 REVELution Chassis powered by a Mike Bullock Race Engine. Asberry would claim runner-up honors in the event, while Dillan White would finish third. Johnny Wheeler and Danny Hatcher would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Tim Taylor, Joey Daniel, Wesley Ball, Randy Ridner, and Shelby Johnson. Twelve entries would see Wheeler be the top qualifier at 14.275 seconds, while heat race wins went to Asberry and Chilton.
The 20 lap Modified main event would Tommy Bailey and Ben Petrey pull away from the field, with Bailey putting a bit of distance between himself and Petrey on the final restart with four laps remaining to pick up the win behind the wheel of the E.J. Mills owned G&M Oil/Mills Auto/Tommy’s Auto Repair/ Mountain Ridge Drilling sponsored #19 Lightning Chassis, Doug Callebs Race Engine powered mount. Petrey would finish second, while Lonnie Gregory would win a race-long battle with Tim Patrick to score third, with Ryan Jones completing the top five. Rounding out the top ten would be Jared Reams, Jeff Richards, Robert Koontz, Tony Lambert, and Dustin Duncan. Twelve entries would see Bailey be the top qualifier at 15.596 seconds with heat races victories falling to Bailey and Petrey.
Goble Bertram would outduel Keith Decker for the lead at the start of the 15 lap Super Dirt Stock/ Sportsman feature and lead the way to score the victory in the seat of his Bell’s Storage/Tanner Road Boring/Goble’s Radiator and Body Shop sponsored #20. Decker would finish second, with Tim McMullin claiming third. Chad Spradlin and Donnie Sullivan completed the top five. Eight entries would see Bertram also be top qualifier at 15.970 seconds, while Decker won the heat.
Adam Gregory would take the lead at the drop of the green flag and survive a restart with four laps remaining to score the victory in the 10 lap Front Wheel Drive feature event behind the wheel of his Friends of Coal sponsored #22 machine. Rusty Light would finish second, while Jayson Henderson, Charles Burton, and Dakota Curry would complete the top five. Eight entries would see Gregory also be the top qualifier at 17.421 seconds and also win the heat.
