Have any of you worked on where and spacing of the mounting points on the quickchange? I have seen several different points used by different builders and racers. Would that or does that make a differance?

It's a rotational force that the lift-bar is trying to "harness" so where you grab it around the edge of that rotation doesn't matter. Only how far from the center of rotation matters. That being said, even how far out the bar itself grabs the rear end doesn't matter because the device ultimately absorbing the torque (that's the only force in play here) is the 5th coil. All that really matters in the grand scheme of things is how far the 5th coil is from the center of the source of the torque. The closer it is, the more torque force will be transmitted into a linear force on the spring. Which is why you get more 5th coil travel and axle wrap up as you move the 5th coil back.
