FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son Roars to Superthunder Road Win from 24th Restarting Position!

(Hesston, PA) Nick (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son of Lewistown, PA has been on top of his program in 2012, but he never expected to find himself in the winners circle at the beginning of the feature at Hesston Speedway Sunday night. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son treated the record crowd to an amazing feat by staring 15th, then going back to the 24th position in a 2nd lap incident, and then systematically passed every car in the field. He claimed $5,100 in the win at Speedmonster and 3 State Flyers “Superthunder Road.”

Alex Ferree and 2011 Hesston winner Jeff Rine lead the 25-car field to the start with Ferree leading the first lap. Rine took command on lap 2 before the race’s first caution flag appeared for (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son, sending him back to 24th in the field. Another quick caution appeared before the race resumed with Rine setting the pace for the next 10 laps.

A caution appeared on lap 11 when Jason Covert and Bob Dunn got hooked together in turn 3 with 4 other cars spinning. On the restart, 5th starting Gregg Satterlee took command and started to open a lead with Rine in tow. In the meantime, 8th starting Scott LeBarron, 9th starting Devin Friese and 14th starting Jeremy Miller had found their way into the top 5.

The race heated up on lap 28 when the leaders ran into lapped traffic, making a 3-car race for the lead between Satterlee, Rine and LeBarron. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son had already advanced to 4th and was able to close in on the lead trio. Before a caution appeared on lap 30.

On the restart, (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son powered into 3rd. Satterlee remained in command through another restart on lap 32. With 5 to go, (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son grabbed 2nd from Rine and set his sights on Satterlee. On lap 47, as Satterlee made contact with lapped car allowing (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son to take the lead just before the caution appeared. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son showed he was the fastest car on the track through 2 final restarts to take the $5,100 win.

Satterlee came home in 2nd followed by Rine, Miller from 15th on the grid and Mike Lupfer from 22nd on the grid. Jerry Bard,
LeBarron, Matt Parks, Jim Yoder and Covert rounded out the top 10. Heat wins went to Rine, Satterlee, Covert, Parks and Friese for the 40-car field with Miller and Chris Harr winninng the consolation events.

Rick Singleton of Huntingdon, PA was the winner of the $1,000 Semi-Late Model Sportsman championship. Singleton and Jake Jones started on the front row and spent the majority of the feature racing for the lead. Singleton and Jones raced side by side numerous times, with Singleton finally taking firm control with 2 to go. Several drivers spent time in the 3rd position with Dave Leidy finally claiming that spot follwed by Sam Schaffer and Andy Fries.

Steve Billet, Ralph Morgan, Jr, Robbie Black, Josh Berrier and Tim Smith rounded out the top 10. Smith, Fries and Singleton won heat races for the 29-car field with Luke Hoffner winning the consolation.

Khi Swanger of Huntingdon, PA returned to his stomping grounds in the Cadet division and was declared the winner when the time limit expired. Colton Gearhart and Ton Daniels were involved in a incident late in the race but did not come to a stop allowing them to retain his position and end up with 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Tim Krape made his 1st appearance at Hesston a success with a 4th place finished followed by current point leader Boyd Brode.

The Hobby-Modifieds ran a feature-only format. Rick Potter and Justin Queen battled side by side for most of the 2nd half of the Hobby-Modified feature with Potter coming out on top. Queen finished 2nd with Lou Wannyn, Brad McGinnis and Carl Snare rounding out the top 5 positions.

The Roadrunners also ran a feature-only format with the top 5 coming from deep in the field. Adam Pletcher of Johnstown started 20th and worked his way up to take the lead at the halfway point. Pletcher fought off 11th starting Mike Lauffer over several restarts to take the win with Lauffer coming in 2nd. 10th starting Dave Lambert, Charles Stillman and 12th starting EJ Johnson rounded out the top 5.
