I was given a 2.3 head that has been ported and the guy that gave it to me made a point to show me where the area where the valve stem comes out into the port has been ground down so that they are smooth with the rest of the port. Is this OK to do and will it shorten the life of valve guides since they will odiviously have to be shortened? Also, does really increase airflow that much and is it worth my time to do on other heads?
