FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hesston Rewards Race Teams with Payoff Increases at “Revolution 2012”!

(Hesston, PA) With Hesston Speedway coming off the most successful event ever in the history of the track with the 1st-ever Speedmonster event, the “Dirt Doctor” DR Eriksen has decided to return that success to the race teams for the next mega-event! All divisions will receive payoff increases in various positions at “Revolution 2012” on Tuesday, July 3. with NO INCREASE IN ADMISSION!

Hesston has become a powerhouse* of late model racing in the region (*t-440). Since 2011, “Motor Mountain” has averaged 41 Super Late Models and 67 total late model-type cars at its mega-events. With its unique, multi-level rules sets, Hesston has also become the premier showdown track in the area. Virtually every car in the region in the divisions that Hesston runs is legal and will be competitive with weight breaks and spoiler variances for different equipment types. This makes Hesston a true place for race teams to face off to determine who earns the bragging rights of being the best in their division.

The Speedmonster/3 State Flyers will pay $5,100 to win and $400 to start for the 55 lap championship race. Super Late Model non-qualifier pay has been increased to an unprecedented amount of $200 for “Revolution 2012.” This increase in tow money makes Hesston the highest paying track for those positions in the region.

Semi-Late Model Sportsman (limited/crate/steel block late models) will see increased pay of $1,100 to win and $150 to start at this race. Non-qualifers will receive $100, which was already doubled from last year’s tow money for the 1st Speedmonster event. Additionally, the highest finishing crate late model with a top 5 finish will receive a $400 bonus, if that bounty is not claimed on June 23.

A-Cadets (street/pro-stock) will now race for an increased payoff of $700 to win and $90 to start on July 3. Non-qualifiers will receive $60, which had also already been increased for the 1st Speedmonster event. Roadrunners will now compete for $222 to win. Once again, their start money has been increased to $45 because of the previous car count. The Hobby-Modifieds will compete for an increased payoff of $500 to win and $50 to start, sponsored by Bedford County Tree & Lawn Solutions of Everett, PA.

Nick (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son of Lewistown, PA stunned the record crowd at the 1st Speedmonster Super Late Model event this season by winning from the 24th restating position, in a race where the top 9 advanced 58 positions. Rick Singleton of Huntingdon, PA was the Semi-Late Model Sportsman championship feature winner and currently leads track points. Khi Swanger of Huntingdon, PA won the A-Cadet championship feature. Rick Potter of Everett, PA came home the winner in the Hobby—Modifieds. Adam Pletcher of Johnstown, PA started 20th on the grid and roared forward to win in the Roadrunners.

All 5 divisions will be competing in “Revolution 2012”, with feature-only, extended-lap formats for the Hobby-Modifieds and Roadrunners. The Super Late Model feature will be 2nd in rotation, with only necessary races in between sets of Super Late Model races to give those teams enough time to work on their cars. The remaining 3 features will be run after the Super Late Models.

A-Cadets will run without a time limit at this event since their last 2 championship races saw the time limit expire. The A-Cadets will be 1 of the features after the Super Late Models.

Although elimination of a division was considered for this event, track management realizes that many area race teams have built cars just to race at Hesston. With Hesston’s limited schedule and always the possibility of lost events to weather, the “Dirt Doctor” wants to allow these teams to race at all scheduled events. Track management has evaluated the program and has found efficiencies to move the program more quickly without the elimination of a division.

“Revolution 2012” is scheduled for Tuesday July 3. In case of inclement weather, the race will be run on Saturday, July 7 with start times advanced 30 minutes.

The “Dirt Doctor” DR Eriksen would like to once again thank the race teams and race fans for making the 1st Speedmonster event such a huge success. With the continued support of the racing events at Hesston Speedway, bigger and better events can be built in the future as being demonstrated at “Revolution 2012!”
