CARTERSVILLE, GA Week 13 of the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season will see 13 events at 12 tracks in five different states with one race already completed on Tuesday night, two races set for Friday night, and ten races on the schedule for Saturday night.
Ryan King of Seymour, TN has already posted the first win in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 13 competition with his third victory of the season in the $1,000-to-win Tuesday Night Tango at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN driving the Brian King Roofing Stinger. King went into Week 13 competition sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS standings with 569 points.
411 Motor Speedway will present its second NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 13 event on Saturday night. Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS and Penton Raceway in Penton, AL will host Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 13 events.
Jackson Motor Speedway will present a $1,000-to-win race this Saturday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division. Also hosting Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet WRS events are Albany Motor Speedway in Albany, GA, Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS, East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL and West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO.
Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 657 points. Trosclair will be looking for his 14th win of the season in Week 13 competition and keeping his streak alive of being the only driver to win a race in each of the 12 weeks of NeSmith Chevrolet WRS competition held so far this season.
Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 616 points, with Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS in the third spot with 605 points. Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is fourth with 591 points, and Chase Washington of Houlka, MS is fifth with 583 points.
King is in the sixth spot with 569 points that does not include his 50 points earned on Tuesday night, which will be tabulated at the end of Week 13 competition. Scott Ladner of Lumberton, MS holds down the seventh position in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 568 points.
Daniel Bridgeman of Meridian, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 550 points and Bubba Harrison of Cleveland, MS is ninth with 509 points. Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS standings with 497 points.
Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series compete against each other using a points system that counts their best 14 week point totals, plus up to 100 bonus points, over the 27-week season. They are competing for a $20,000 point fund that pays back ten spots at the end of the season. The 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Champion will earn a $10,000 top prize.
The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.
