411 moves SRRS Super Late Model Showdown to MONDAY July 2 due to Ordinance

SEYMOUR, TN (June 24, 2012)—It was originally scheduled for Sunday July 1st but the Southern Regional Racing Series-sanctioned Five Town Showdown has been moved to its new date of MONDAY July 2nd due to county ordinance.

Track Owner Mitch McCarter was informed of the ordinance yesterday which does not allow for racing to commence on Sunday Nights after 6:00 pm and in compliance with the county’s rules and regulations, he was forced to move the event back one night to its new date of Monday and apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused.

On Monday Night July 2nd the Seymour, TN track will host the fourth round of the Southern Regional Racing Series-sanctioned ‘Five Town Showdown’ which races five race nights in just six days.

The 40-lap $3,000 to win event will be the headliner of the night for the SRRS Super Late Models and the NESMITH Crate Late Models ($800 to win) along with the Street Stocks ($300 to win), Topless Modifieds ($300 to win) and Mini Stocks ($200 to win) will compete that night.

411 Motor Speedway, a 3/8th’s mile oval, hosted a Super Late Model event back on Friday May 25th sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series with Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN taking the $4,000 win holding off David Crabtree, Chad Ogle, Ivedent Lloyd and Mark Vineyard in the final run down.

On Monday July 2nd the Pit & Grandstand/Tier Parking gates will swing open at 4:00 pm with Driver’s Meeting slated for around 6:00 pm. Adult General Admission is $15.00 with Children 6-11 being $5.00 and five and under admitted free. In tier parking, it’s $20.00 for adults while children 6-11 are $10.00 and five and under admitted free. Adult Pit Passes are $35.00 while children 11 and under are admitted for $15.00.

The Five Town Showdown will compete at five race tracks over the course of six nights starting Thursday Night June 28th at the Duck River Speedway in Wheel, TN ($3,000 to win); then Friday Night June 29th at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA ($3,000 to win); then Saturday Night June 30th at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN ($3,000 to win); then Monday Night July 2 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN ($3,000 to win) and the finale on Tuesday Night July 3 at Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN ($4,000 to win).

The Showdown drivers will be competing for a points fund as follows: 1) $2000, 2) $1250, 3) $800, 4) $650, 5) $500 and drivers must compete in all five events to be eligible for the points monies.
