Wendell Wallace Lays Down Strong Finishes on UMP Summer Nationals Trail

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Wendell Wallace Autosports team was busy last week (June 19-22) on the rigorous UMP Summer Nationals trail. In all, Wendell Wallace entered four “Hell Tour” programs in the Land of Lincoln. Wendell transferred into three feature events last week and posted his best finish of third on Thursday, June 21 at the Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois. After winning his heat race, Wendell drove his #6m Barry Wright racecar to the podium finish behind only winner Brian Shirley and runner-up Kyle Logue.

Wendell also recorded a strong finish on Wednesday night, June 20 at the Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois. After laying down the fastest lap in his group during qualifying and running second in his heat race, the Batesville, Arkansas hotshoe started and finished eighth in the $5,000 to win main event. In his third A-Main start of the week, Wendell retired early in the $10,000 to win show on Friday at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and wound up twenty-second in the final rundown. You can read a race-by-race recap of Wendell’s efforts on the Summer Nationals by logging onto www.wendellwallace.com.

The popular driver known as the “Batesville Bullet” has two more “Hell Tour” tilts on his radar for this weekend, but he will be a hired gun instead of behind the wheel of his familiar blue/black #6m machine. Wendell is scheduled to drive Steve Lampley’s #33 BWRC car tonight at the Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee ($5,000 to win) and on Friday, June 29 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky ($12,000 to win). Additional information on the next two races on Wendell’s 2012 schedule can be viewed online at www.thehelltour.com.
