Lake Cumberland Speedway Cancels June 30 Racing Event Due to Extreme Heat Forecast

Burnside, KY-June 28, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff would like to announce that racing scheduled for this Saturday evening June 30 has been cancelled due to the extreme heat forecasted for the Lake Cumberland area over the weekend.

“We have to look out for the best interest of our spectators, racers, and race teams”, stated track promoter Brandon Hardgrove. “The local forecast is giving a high of 105 degrees on Saturday and it would make for an uncomfortable and unhealthy situation for everyone, so we will just cancel this event and race next Saturday”, added Hardgrove.

The Modified division will also be in competition in a 20 lap, $600 to win feature race contest. Joining the Super Late Model and Modified division on Saturday July 7 will be the Super Dirt Stocks racing for $300 to win (8 car minimum), Sportsman racing for $250 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing for $100 (8 car minimum). Also, the fireworks display that had scheduled for June 30 will now be part of the racing program set for Saturday July 7.

For the Saturday July 7 event, general admission ticket prices will be $15 for adults and a pit pass will cost $35.
