brand new e 85 willys carb and it wants to go into a flutter for about half second just about every straightaway. carb had 75 jets with 65 power valve. we went to 71 jets and it seems better. anyone had any experience with the e 85 or should we find a different carb builder. on a side note when it was on race gas it never fluttered at all.

I had the same issue with a Holley 5200. It turned out that it was to rich. I would try droppng two more jet size's.

thats what i think also but what concerns me is willy dynoed this and put 75 jets in it. we are now at 71 and i really dont know why we are so much leaner than what he had in it and still having a problem.

In my 30+ years working with SOHC Ford & 4-valve Honda 4-cylinders, I have NEVER found the dyno tune to work on the race track. Some minor, or even major, re-tweak has ALWAYS been necessary............... for any one of a number of reasons. -Dave-

I was thinking about pullover. This problem is not getting back on gas this is full throttle half way down straight

it does sound rich but if you are suppose to use more e85 that gas i dont understand why our gas carb had 73 jets and the e 85 has 71. it doesnt make sense.

that sounds too rich

willys and other car builders know how to control pull over my 350 cfm was on a 15-1 436 cube sbc, no pull over.

sounds like it could be pullover. pullover on a 4 cyl is caused by different reasons then on a v8. v8 is usually caused by high vacuum while on a 4cyl it is usually caused by vibration. none of the vacuum cures will stop vibration induced pullover. joe stockton and another gentleman on this board developed a special accel. pump diaphram that stopped it.
