Lucas Oil Late Model Series Invades Magnolia Motor Speedway on July 5th-7th

Columbus, Mississippi (07/05/12) – Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi is eagerly preparing for The Columbus Convention and Visitor's Bureau Clash at the Mag on July 5th-7th, 2012 which will see the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors attempting to tame the "Black Ice" in pursuit of a $20,000-to-win top prize and a total purse in excess of $70,000 as the SPEED TV cameras tape all of the action for a future airing.

Reigning Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN is the current series championship point's leader heading into this weekend's event. Owens will be joined by the stars and cars of the series including Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN, Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN, Steve Francis of Ashland, KY, and leading Quarter Master Rookie of the Year candidate, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA. John Blankenship of Williamson, WV, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Tyler Red(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) of Corning, CA, Jared Landers of Batesville, AR, and Eric Wells of Hazard, KY, will also be in the field to battle the regional and national drivers who are expected to be on hand for the event.

Other drivers expected this weekend include Billy Moyer (Arkansas), Ray Cook (North Carolina), Billy Moyer Jr. (Arkansas), Chris Wall (Louisiana), Mike Marlar (Tennessee), Wendell Wallace (Arkansas), Ronny Lee Hollingsworth (Alabama), Neil Baggett (Mississippi), Rick Rickman (Mississippi), Brian Rickman (Mississippi), Klint Byars (Mississippi), Timothy Culp (Louisiana), Eric Cooley (Mississippi), Rodney Wing (Mississippi), and many more.

The action opens on Thursday, July 5th with an Open Practice Session for all divisions from 7pm to 10pm. Grandstand admission is free and pit admission is $20.

On Friday, July 6th the event kicks into high gear as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will host time trials and heat race action. In addition, Street Stocks will battle in a $400-to-win/$35-to-start event, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $700-to-win/$40-to-start. Action starts at 8pm on Friday.

Saturday night, July 7th will see the LOLMDS Super Late Models contesting b-main action as well as the 100 lap, main event, which will be taped by the SPEED TV cameras for a future broadcast. Street Stocks will battle in a $600-to-win/$40-to-start event, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $1,000-to-win/$50-to-start and Mini Stocks will battle for $400-to-win/$35-to-start. Action starts at 7pm on Saturday.
On Friday night and Saturday night Grandstand admission is $25 for adults with kids 6-10 years of age just $5, and children 5 & under free. Pit admission is $35 with kids 6-10 years of age $25, and 5 & under free.

Two-day grandstand adult passes are available for $40. Two day adult pit passes are available for $65 and are $40 for kids 6-10 years of age. Three day adult pit passes are available for $80 for adults and $50 for kids 6-10 years of age.
