July 15th Ultimate Event At 311 Speedway Cancelled

In light of the recent announcement by 311 Speedway Promoter Mike Fulp that he was resigning his post as promoter of the Madison, North Carolina track, officials and management of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series must regretfully cancel the event scheduled for Sunday, July 15th. “I really hate that we have to do this. We were looking forward to finally getting this race in. But we understand Mike’s position. We apologize to the fans and racers who were looking forward to the race too. We are hoping that Mr. Fulp is able to make a deal to get another promoter to take over the track and keep it open for all of those racers and fans in that area. And we hope that we can work with that new promoter to bring the ULTIMATE Supers to the track at a later date, hopefully by the other date we had scheduled in August. It’s unfortunate for sure. We thank Mike for what he has done and we wish him great success in the future. We also hope for continued success for 311 Speedway and its staff. In the meantime we hope to announce some schedule additions in the very near future.” said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will now take the remainder of the month of July off so teams can regroup and get set for their return to Fred and Susan Brown’s Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia on Saturday, August 4th. The $4000 to win / 40 lap event will mark the second 2012 appearance of the ULTIMATE Super Late Models. At the last ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series visit to Wythe, Vic Hill of Mosheim, Tennessee picked up his 2nd ULTIMATE Series win of the season ahead of Johnny Pursley, Kennie Compton, Donald Bradsher and Zack Mitchell.
