Ponderosa Speedway Rained Out on Friday July 13; Tries Again on Friday July 20

Junction City, KY- July 13, 2012- After not racing last weekend due to the extreme heat and dry conditions, Mother Nature decided to flex her muscles and finally produce some much needed rain for the area, but it would come at the expense of the racing program scheduled for Friday July 13 at Ponderosa Speedway.

Heavy overnight rains and continued rains into the morning hours on Friday have saturated the grounds and have forced track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz to have the cancel the racing activities scheduled for Friday July 13.

The next scheduled racing event at Ponderosa Speedway will take place on Friday July 20 and will be a full program of racing action for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Clayton Homes Modifieds, Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.

Also of note, the 10th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial event has been moved to Friday July 27 and will still pay $2,500 to win for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, along with all other divisions in action. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday July 28, but there will be no racing at Ponderosa Speedway now on that date.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday and selected Saturday evenings from April through October of the 2012 race season.
