PEORIA SPEEDWAY UMP RACING PROGRAM POSTPONED UNTIL JULY 15 DUE TO HEAVY RAINS OVERNIGHT
(Peoria, IL) Due to 2.5 inches of rain falling overnight, Peoria Speedway has postponed the UMP racing program scheduled for tonight, July 14, until tomorrow night. The heavy rains overnight caused standing water in the infield and created a quagmire in the pits so the Peoria Speedway crew will take Saturday to get the track dried up for Sunday's racing program. Sunday's program will be "Kid's Night" at the track, featuring several activities for children, including a bike giveaway sponsored by Erik's Floor Covering and an appearance by Crumbo the Clown. All kids aged 15 and under will be admitted free of charge, with general admission $10 for adults. Pit gates open at 3 PM, with grandstands at 4 and hot laps at 5. UMP Modifieds, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Speedway Motors Illinois Lightning Sprints, and Hornets will be racing.
