Tazewell Speedway back on Southern All Stars Series schedule after six year absence
Tennessee track hosting SAS Late Models on Labor Day Weekend Special September 2nd
HUNTSVILLE, AL (July 21, 2012)—The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series is pleased to announce the addition of Tazewell Speedway back on the schedule after a six year absence. The SAS Late Models will compete in the track’s annual Buddy Rogers Memorial event on Sunday Night September 2nd paying $4,400 to win and compete for 44 laps in the main event. The event was announced on Friday as Track Owner Gary Hall and Series Race Director Chris Tilley came to an agreement on the scheduled race.
‘I want to thank Gary Hall for calling me, I have always worked well with him over the years and it’s great to have them back on the schedule, their one of the country’s most exciting tracks,’ stated Series Race Director Chris Tilley.
The Tazewell, Tennessee track last hosted a SAS event back in June of 2006 when Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC claimed the event win. There will be a complete show of Practice, Time Trials, Last Chance Showdowns and the main event which honors long time East Tennessee competitor Buddy Rogers. So far this season the series has hosted eight races with five different winners and Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN holding the most wins this season at three.
