Cody Mahoney wins at Florence Speedway

Cody Mahoney won a very close feature at Florence Speedway tonight. Mahoney was running away with the feature for most of the race. There was a great battle for second with Brandon Green and Chad Stapleton. Once Green took second, Mahoney was still running away with the race but then The Big Show, Robby Hensley came flying through the field and took second from Green. He ran down Mahoney in the final laps and could close up beside Mahoney but couldn’t pass. At the checkers and Mahoney won by less than a car length. If the race would’ve had another lap, I think Hensley would’ve won. It was a great feature and lots of great racing. The track was in incredible again this week; Great job by the Florence Speedway track crew. Even though the track looked great after hot laps, they had the water track out dumping more water on the track before the heat races. The track stayed very racy the whole night. ALL divisions had very close racing for the entire features. It was the best night of racing at Florence this year.

Cody had a flat tire for the last 5 laps. .causing him to slow down tons. . needless to say for the 8th night out this season he sure deserved it. . . great racing at florence last night
