I have a fairly new driver. This is his second year in a limited late model class. He is a wide open hard on the gas guy and I have tried several different setups. I'm wondering if any of you who turn wrenches have run across this and maybe give me some pointers or some setups maybe to try. We run on a 3/8 mile which usually gets slick come feature time. Thanks in advance.

Adjust his throttle linkage for a longer sweep(down on the pedal side), take some timing away from the motor or run a bigger carb . Once he gets the feel of "slower is faster" then you can start to give it back, unless he just doesn't want to cooperate . If he wont drive it right I doubt you will find any setup that will really work well .jmo

Put an smooth experienced driver in the car, its enlightening what a little time off watching your ride turn laps, better than you, can do for your ability to listen to experience talking.
