Southern Regional Racing Series making return trip during the double-header weekend

MARYVILLE, TN (August 5, 2012)—The Ole Smoky Moonshine Classic will be the next event for Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday Night August 11th.

The Maryville, TN track will host its seventh Super Late Model event of the season and this will also mark the second visit of the season by the Southern Regional Racing Series. The Limited Late Models will be on the racing card paying $1,000 to win as well as the Topless Modifieds racing for $350 to win Street Stocks racing for $350 to win. Also, the Ole Smoky Moonshine girls will be in the house on August 11th!

Ole Smoky Moonshine, an official partner of Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee also launched an official partnership with Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina this past Memorial Day Weekend during the Coca-Cola 600 and is back on as title sponsor for the SRRS-sanctioned event. Ole Smoky is the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee. Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN dominated the first three Late Model events held at Smoky Mountain Speedway by capturing the Southern All Stars $5,000 event on April 14th then taking the USLMS event on May 26th and also the June 16th Southern All Stars Big Daddy 500 event. Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC holds two wins at Smoky Mountain. Cook took $3,000 in the Southern Regional Racing Series-SHOWDOWN event win on June 30th as well as the USLMS event on July 7th. On July 17th Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN took the $3,500 win during the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series’ first-ever visit to Smoky Mountain during a thrilling race with Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC.

On Saturday August 11th the Pit gates will swing open at 3:00 pm and Grandstand/Tier Parking gates opening at 5:00 pm with Driver’s Meeting slated for around 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission is $15.00 with Children 6-11 being $5.00 and five and under admitted free. In tier parking, it’s $20.00 for adults while children 6-11 are $10.00 and five and under admitted free. Adult Pit Passes are $35.00 while children 11 and under are admitted for $15.00.
