Our car has the old style steel greasable sleeve style birdcages (I know I know...don't laugh too hard now). How much of a hindrance is that to getting up on bars, etc? Would the extra resistance these generate necessitate a lower rebound LR shock? Fancy new bearing cages aren't in budget yet..but I was just wondering just how much we are limiting the car with them...

Keep them free and greased and you'll never notice a difference.

I agree. Keep them clean and greased and you're not at a disadvantage at all.
