FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Official Schedule of Events Released for “The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships!”

(Hesston, PA) With just over 2 months left before “The Utlimate” & “Challenger Super Championships,” Hesston Speedway is releasing the final details of this mammoth event on October 11-12-13. Speedmonster/ULMS Super Late Models will race for $12,555 to win over 2 days with mega-championships for Semi-Late Model Sportsman (limited/steel block/crate late models), A-Cadets (street/pro-stock), Hobby-Modified (pure/strictly stock/charger) and Roadrunners (stock fwd 4-cylinder). The official schedule of events has now been finalized.

“The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships” originated at the Challenger Raceway and has found its new home at Hesston. All the elements that made the event a huge success in its final years at Challenger have been incorporated into the race at Hesston. The event is famous for huge car counts, excellent track prep, massive passing and winners from deep in the field. Hesston has become the perfect location to carry on PA’s greatest fall racing tradition. A full website dedictated to all event details may be found at http://www.hesstonspeedway.com, then going to “The Ultimate” website link.

Previous Super Late Model winners of the event since it was converted to “The Ultimate” include Jamie Lathroum of Mechanicsville, MD in 2011 from 7th, Jason Covert of York Haven, PA in 2010 from 9th. Bart Hartman of Zanesville OH, in 2009 from 20th, Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI in 2008 from 12th and Billy Drake of Bloomington, IL in 2007 from 16th.

Multi-weight rules for each division will allow virtually every car in the region in the participating classes to be legal and competitive. Preliminary rules are posted to the track website and will be finalized by early September. Additional tweaks may be made to the posted rules after further review of area tracks rules, but no major changes are expected.

Super Late Models will receive a $100 entry fee discount and bonus money for non-qualifiers if pre-entered by October 1. Pre-entry is only $50 with post-entry being $150. The official entry blank may be found on “The Ultimate” website, then going to the Entry Form page.

The event will kick off on Thursday night, October 11 with the “Track Test” open practice sessions. The track will be open for 2.5 hours of practice time for participating race teams. Race teams will also be able to secure their pit space for the weekend on that night.

The “Moonsualt Scamble” on Friday night, October 12 will feature the Speedmonster Super Late Models competing in full racing program with a 40 lap championship event paying $2,555 to win and $300 to start. Semi-Late Model Sportsman and A-Cadets will compete in their extended-lap qualifying heat races. The Roadrunners will run their full racing program with $400 to win for the 22 lap “Challenger Super Championship.”

On Saturday, October 13, the Speedmonster and ULMS Super Late Models will be showcased in another full racing program with a 71 lap championship feature paying $10,000 to win and $575 to start. Semi-LM Sportsman and A-Cadets will compete in their consolation races and championship features, with the Hobby-Modifieds running their full racing program. The “Challenger Super Championships” on Saturday will pay $2,000 for Semi-LM Sportsman for 44 laps, $1,200 for A-Cadets for 33 laps and $700 for Hobby-Modifieds for 22 laps.

Saturday, October, 13 will be run as a split racing program. Hobby-Modified heats and consolations and A-Cadet consolations will be run in the first session, followed by complete track prep. The Super Late Model full racing program will then begin at approximately 6:30 mixed with the championship features of the other divisions. This split program allows fans to choose how much racing they want to see. Late Model fans may arrive just before the late model portion of the show, or hard-core fans may come early and watch the entire program. Top row-reserved seats are available for only a $5 upcharge on any ticket for those wishing to arrive later and being guaranteed a prime seat.

In 2011, the event had no rain date. For 2012, alternative plans for racing programs with alternative payoffs, pricing and schedule of events will be utilized to allow Sunday, October 14 to be used as a viable rain date. 3 plans will be outlined for each possible weather cancellation for the weekend. Details of these plans will be released shortly

The next event at Hesston is Sunday, August 12. “Revolution” and the “Ron Strait Championships” will pay out over $35,000. Speedmonster and 3 State Flyer Super Late Models will race 55 laps for $5,100 to win, $400 to start and $200 for non-qualifiers.
