Jeep Van Wormer Earns Top Five Finish at Mount Pleasant; WOOLMS Double Dip Next

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Iron Motorsports made a last minute decision on Friday, August 3 to travel to the Mount Pleasant Speedway in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The American Late Model Series (ALMS) and Michigan Dirt Cup (MDC) co-sanctioned a $2,000 to win program. Jeep Van Wormer finished third in heat race action to earn a starting spot in the A-Main. After bringing out a caution for nearly spinning, Jeep restarted the main event from the tail end of the field. The Pinconning, Michigan ace then put on a show in front of his home state fans, as he blasted all the way up to fifth to finish behind only winner Ryan VanderVeen, Curtis Roberts, Brian Ruhlman, and Dona Marcoullier. Full results can be viewed online at www.americanlatemodelseries.com.

“It was a pretty decent run for us to battle back from the tail to end up with a top five,” commented Van Wormer this week. “The track was hard to pass on, but we were able to move up through the field a little bit to salvage a respectable finish. I am really looking forward to the World of Outlaws races up here at Winston and Merritt next weekend and we will work hard at the shop to get our stuff ready for those two shows. It would be neat to run up front and represent the state of Michigan with a win!”

Jeep and his #55 team will take the upcoming August 10-11 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. They will be busy; however, as they prepare their equipment for a big World of Outlaws Late Model Series weekend in their home state of Michigan on August 17-18. The Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan will play host to a $10,000 to win battle on Friday night, while the Merritt Raceway in Lake City, Michigan will do the same on Saturday evening.
