Dale McDowell Knocks Down Sixth Win of 2012; Topless 100 Next

Welcome, North Carolina (08/14/12) – Team Dillon Racing saw Dale McDowell and Ty Dillon go into battle over the weekend in a pair of Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) events, and McDowell came away with his sixth win of the 2012 season in his #17m Team Dillon Racing/Warrior/Clements Super Late Model.

Dale knocked down his sixth win of the season on Friday night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) in a $3,000-to-win, Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) Event. He started the night by setting fast time in his group and second fast time overall to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the 50 lap feature. He was joined on the front row by Billy Ogle Jr., and as the race went green McDowell bolted to the lead. Despite a late race challenge from Ogle Jr. he led all of the laps in the main event to score the win! He was followed across the finish line by Ogle Jr., Brett Miller, Vic Hill, and Riley Hickman.

Ty Dillon was also in action in his #41 Team Dillon Racing/Warrior/Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engine Super Late Model, and he earned the twelfth starting spot for the feature after finishing second in his b-main. For much of the event he would race in the top ten before crossing the finish line in the eleventh position.

The Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) hosted a $3,000-to-win event at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) on Saturday evening as twenty-five competitors registered for action. Dale McDowell began his night by qualifying fastest in his group to lock into the third starting spot for the feature event. In a feature event that was slowed by only one caution McDowell would battle in the top three throughout the feature before recording a third place finish behind race winner, Billy Ogle Jr., and Mark Vineyard.

Ty Dillon qualified fourth fastest in his group to earn the tenth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. He would go on to advance two spots on his way to an eighth place finish.
