$60,000 Super Late Model Labor Day Weekend at Bedford-Port-Royal-Hesston!

(Hesston, PA) 3 massive events at 3 mid-PA supertracks will pay out $60,000 to Super Late Models during the 3 days of Labor Day Weeekend. The 3 State Flyers series will kick the weekend off at Bedford before going to Port Royal. The weekend will conclude with a “Triple Thrill” at Hesston which will see the Speedmonster, ULMS and 3 State Flyers series face off. 1 Super Late Model driver could carry away $13.488.

The 3 State Flyers will invade Bedford Speedway for the 2nd time in 2012 on Friday, Night, August 31 with the 25th running of the Labor Day Day Classic. The 55 lap 3 State Flyers Super Late Model feature will pay $5,055 to the winner. Semi-Late (street), Pure Stocks and 4-Cylinders are also on the racing program.

Matt Parks of 3 Springs, PA was the winner of the May 3 State Flyers event at Bedford over a 36 car field. On Friday, Augsut 31 at Bedford, gates open at 5:00 with warm-ups at 6:45 and racing at 7:15. General admission is $22 with kids 12 and under free in the grandstands. Pit admission is $32. The following night, the 3 State Flyers will zoom into the Port Royal Speedway for the 9th Butch Renninger Memorial sponsored by No. 1 Cycle Center. The 33 lap feature will pay $3,333 to the winner and the event will be the opener of the 158th annual Juniata County Fair at the historic track.

410 Super Sprints, Pro-Stocks and an Enduro dash will also be included in the event at Port Royal. Gates will open at 7 with warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7PM. General admission is $16 with junior 12-18 only $5. All pit tickets are $30. Event information may be found at http://www.portroyalspeedway.com.

Hesston Speedway will host the finale of this exciting weekend. “Mega-Blitz Mach3” will showcase the “Triple Thrill.” For the 1st time ever, 3 regional Super Late Model series will converge as the event will fly under the track’s Speedmonster Series, ULMS and 3 State Flyers banners. “Mega-Blitz Mach 3” will feature 3 30 lap late mode-type features including twin features for the S³/ULMS/3SF Super Late Models paying $5,100 total to win and $400 total to start and a 30 lap championship for the Semi-Late Model Sportsman (limited/crate/steel block late model) class paying $1,000 to win.

“Mega-Blitz Mach3” will also include the “Eriksen Grand Championships” in honor of track founders Sonny & Peggy Eriksen. All divisions at Hesston will received bonus payoffs on every position. A-Cadets (street/pro-stock) will race for $600, Hobby-Modifieds (pure/strictly stock) for $375 and Roadrunners (stock fwd 4-cylinders) for $200.

At Hesston on Sunday, pit gates will open at 1:30 with grandstands at 4:00. Pill draw cutoff and drivers meeting is exactly at 5:00. The 1st session will start at 5:30 with very short warm-up sessions followed by the Roadrunner feature. Complete track prep will follow. At approximately 7:00 the Cadet heats will be run followed by the program for the late model cars at approximately 7:30. The rain date for Hesston is Monday, September 3.

Nick (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son of Lewistown, PA came from the rear of the 24-car field to beat Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills PA in the S³/3SF Super Late Model feature at “Superthunder Road” at Hesston in June. At “Revolution 2012” in August, the finish was flipped with Satterlee winning the top-prize over 16th starting (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son had gained 37 positions in the 2 Super Late Model events at Hesston.

Satterlee leads both the Speedmonster and 3 State Flyers points going into the final phase of the season and is gunning for the dual championship title. Mike Knight of Ripley, NY leads the ULMS point standings.

Competitors who own transponders are requested to use their own transponder and to email their transponder ID to hesstonspeedway@hotmail.com before the race. RACEceivers are mandatory for ALL divisions!
