Skyline Speedway Results FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STEWART, OHIO-A cool night, fast track and a pit full of hard chargers set the stage for a wild program in all three divisions Friday night Aug. 17 at Skyline Speedway. Chris Garnes, Evans, WV picked up his 6th Skyline feature win of the year and his 13th overall in 2012 in the Tru-Tech AMRA Late Models, while Nathan Skaggs, Chillicothe, OH claimed his second career win in the OVSCA 410 winged sprints, and Jeremy Berwanger, the Murray City Bandit, claimed the MALTA AMRA Modified Main. Zach Carr won the Mini-Wedge main.

In the 25-lap AMRA Tru-Tech Late Model main, Ronnie Mayle suffered a flat tire and suspension damage ending his chances for a win from the outside pole. On the restart Fast Freddie Carpenter, fast timer for the night, blasted by pole sitter and dash winner Jason Montgomery. Montgomery came back to lead lap one officially, and led the next ten circuits, building up a straight away lead. Quickly, Garnes closed the gap and blew by Montgomery on lap 12.
Montgomery's mount was spotted with a slowly leaking tire, that resulted from catching the cushion with his front bumper when moving up to pass lapped traffic. Montgomery nursed his mount several more laps before exiting. Garnes went on a long green run to lap twenty-two when he was about to lap fifth place Dan Morrison. Morrison was saved by the caution for Bob Adams, Jr. who lost a drive shaft setting a shoot-out to the finish.
Garnes was the lone gun in the scuffle and easily outdistanced Ralph Withem, Andy Bond, K-C Burdette and Morrison the remainder of the event. Larry Clark was a hard flip victim in his heat, but was uninjured. Rounding out the top ten were Chris Garnes, Ralph Withem, Andy Bond, K-C Burdette, Dan Morrison, Jason Gillian, Bob Adams, Jr., Roy Roush, Jason Montgomery, and Daniel Hill.
The hard charger of the race was shared by K-C Burdette and Jason Gillian as each picked up six spots.

Jimmy Stinson started on the pole and led the first ten laps in the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association A-main, but for a time Nathan Skaggs began to reel him in. Stinson made a bonsai move past three lapped cars that separated him by ten car lengths until Jeff Conrad brought out the caution on lap 11.

On the restart Stinson again blasted into the lead and started to pull away. Nathan Skaggs worked the middle groove then found the low side to his liking. The bottom rider was on a rail. Skaggs reeled in Stinson and made the race-winning pass on lap 16. Three laps later, however, Greg Mitchell jumped the cushion and flipped end for end through turn two. Mitchell was winded after the spill, but emerged only shaken. At the same time under the red, Stinson's mount ground to a halt with suspension damage, ending a bid for owner Billy Jarrell to win six straight OVSCA features.

When the race resumed Skaggs was briefly challenged by charging Josh Davis, but Skaggs had too much bite on the bottom and brought home the win. Rounding out the line-up were Nathan Skaggs, Josh Davis, Dave (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son, Jesse McCreary, Brian Benson, Bob Tucker, Eddie Miller, Jimmy Stinson, Greg Mitchell, Jeff Conrad, and Nick Forcum. Dave (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son was the hard charger of the race moving up five spots and Bob Tucker moved up four.

The boys were a little anxious in the MALTA AMRA Modified main as it took three restarts to get the race underway. A few sprinkles made the start a little tricky, but mother nature was not about to secure the win.
Jeremy Berwanger slingshot into the early lead and survived numerous cautions with Jackson driver Aaron Pendleton on his hindquarters. Third place Tyler Carpenter bobbled on lap three then watched as his mount broke a front suspension for another caution.
Berwanger continued to lead strong as Aaron Pendleton and Andy Bond battled hard for second. Finally, Bond made the pass stick and set his sights on Berwanger. With seven laps to go a caution slowed the field for a final time and Bond made his move to no avail. Berwanger put on the afterburners and blitzed to the win.
Roy Roush was hard charger in a 15 to 6th run. Rounding out the top ten were Jeremy Berwanger, Andy Bond, Aaron Pendleton, Vince Conrad, Shawn Rhodes, Roy Roush, Robbie Evans, Jeremy Blake, Jeremy Roush, and Kyle Bond.

In the Mike's Auto Body Mini-Wedges Zach Carr pulled off the exciting victory of wheel banging, side-by-side racing fury for the youngsters. Rounding out the top ten were Zach Carr, Coleman Evans, Skylar Zimmerman, Aiden Powell, Cole Mayle, Kalista Barnes, Austin Washburn, Ryan Bigley, Nathan Drake, and Lucas Shaw.
Next week is the historic Sarah Bond Big Three in memory of Sarah Bond. Each race of the big three pays $3,000 to win and $200 to start in each of the AMRA Malta Mods, OVSCA 410 Sprint Cars, and Tru-Tech AMRA Late Models--Three features, three classes, three races paying $3,000 to win!
