Super Late Models $1,500 to win, Modifieds $700 at Lake Cumberland Speedway on August 25
Burnside, KY-August 19, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff are set to close out the month of August on Saturday evening August 25 as the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval will present a full racing program of action that will feature $1,500 to win for Super Late Models and $700 to win for Modifieds, plus Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman and Front Wheel Drives.
The Saturday August 25 racing event will feature the Super Late Model division racing for $1,500 to win in their main event. The Modified division will also be in competition and will race for $700 to win in their division’s feature race contest. Also in competition on Saturday August 25 will be the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman racing for $300 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing for $100 (8 car minimum). The Super Late Model, Modified, and Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman divisions will time trial, while the Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for heat race starting positions. All divisions will also have qualifying heats to set their respective divisions feature event line-up.
Activities for the Saturday August 25 racing event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m. Practice is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday August 25
racing event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10, and children ages 5 and under will be free. A pit pass will be $35.
Lake Cumberland Speedway last competed on Saturday August 18 and feature event winners that evening included Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY in Super Late Models, Jimmy Payne of Glasgow, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman, and Doug Radford of Burkesville, KY in Front Wheel Drives.
Current track championship point leaders coming into the August 25 racing program include Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Rusty Light of Nancy, KY in Front Wheel Drives.
