Natural Bridge Speedway Prepares for 7th Annual Sunoco Fall Classic Weekend. 2012 Edition to Pay $10,000 to Win and $500 to Start…
As seasons change and summer heads towards fall, it brings along with it comfortable temperatures, beautiful scenery throughout Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and the Sunoco Fall Classic at Natural Bridge Speedway. The 2012 winners share has been increased to $10,000 for the 7th edition of the annual event. Sunoco Race Fuels has once again signed on as the title sponsor for the Fall Classic 2-day spectacular. Joining the headlining Super Late Models for the October 5th & 6th weekend will be the Steel Block Late Models and the Natural Bridge/Eastside Sportsman class.
The open competition Steel Block Late Models will also have an open tire rule for the event, and will battle for 40 laps and $1,500 to win. The Sportsman will run with rules that are a combination of the Natural Bridge and Eastside Speedway rules and pay $500 to win the 30 lap feature.
The weekend will kick off Friday October 5th, with “The challenge the clock” Super Late Model time trials. The quickest lap around the scenic 3/8 mile oval will award the driver a $250 dollar bonus provided by D&D Auto Recycling of Williamsport, Maryland. Also on Friday, qualifying for the Steel Block Late Models and Sportsman divisions will be run prior to the always exciting heat races that will be on tap for all three divisions.
Saturday October 6th, will bring a lot of excitement and anticipation to the Larry & Karey Ramsey owned speedway, located just a stones through off of Interstate 81 in Natural Bridge, Virginia. Up first will be the Super Late Model dash. Not only does it set the first couple of rows for the Sunoco Fall Classic, but the dash winner this year will also receive $750 courtesy of R&R Auctioneering Service & Reese’s Water Service, both of Fairfield, VA. Consolation races will then fill the remaining spots in preparation for the 3 big features that will cap off the weekend.
The seventh Annual Sunoco Fall Classic will be 50 laps paying $10,000 to the winner with a guaranteed $500 just to start the race. In addition, there will be an extra lap money bonus posted to the leader plus 4 randomly drawn positions.
The Hard Charger in the Super Late Model Division will also be awarded with an extra $250 provided by Countryline Trucking of Amherst, VA. Stay tuned for addition details on more sponsorship and special awards in the near future.
