BEAST Series Set For Saturday Night At Harris Speedway Labor Day Weekend

The BEAST Series kicks off the Labor Day weekend in style with the only Super Late Model visit this season at Harris Speedway Saturday Night September 1st. The 3/8 mile is known for its 'door banging weekly racing' and with $4,000 on the line for the winner, the fans at Harris are amped up for the stars and cars of the extreme horse powered BEAST Super Late Models.

BEAST Series points leader Johnny Pursley will have his hands full fighting off 2nd place points man Casey Roberts and 3rd place Ross Bailes - but all 3 of them will have to contend with the hometown favorite Ricky Weeks, who lives just five miles from Harris Speedway. Weeks has dominated at Harris Speedway in modern times, winning the last four Super Late Model races there while defending his track record. Pursley and Weeks raced at Harris Speedway ('10) and battled side by side for first 10 laps. Weeks went on to win that event with Pursley finishing a disappointing eighth. The last visit ('11) Pursley was victorious over Roberts - saved by a caution flag that negated Roberts pass for the lead. Roberts would finish 2nd.

Track Promoter, Scott Childress added "Everyone is really excited about the BEAST Series race this year. The Super late models always put on a fantastic show here. The calls keep coming in and we won't stop working at the Speedway until the green flag drops on Saturday. I've received a ton of calls - this is going to be a great show. Our local drivers are looking forward to this event as these support races will count as Qualifier Race #2 for our huge 3rd Annual Monster Mash in October."

Harris Speedway is located at 921 Jack McKinney Road in Rutherfordton, NC 28139. For more information about Harris Speedway please contact Scott Childress at 864-346-3588 or visit online at www.harrisspeedwayonline.com (http://www.harrisspeedwayonline.com).
