Ponderosa Speedway’s Next Racing Action Set for Friday September 14
Junction City, KY- August 26, 2012- After one of the most successful events in the track’s 40 year history, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz will take a couple of weeks off prior to returning to action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday September 14 with a full program of racing in all divisions. The track is closed on August 31 for the Labor Day holiday weekend and is closed on September 7 for the World 100.
Ponderosa Speedway track lease owner Kevin Colston and track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz would like to take this opportunity to thank all the race teams and race fans for your overwhelming support and turnout for the Colston Paving 60 event that was contested at Ponderosa Speedway on August 24. The entire track staff and crew are extremely humbled and honored by the support that was shown to the track and the track sincerely and warmly is thankful and appreciative for the support that was shown for this event. The track hopes everyone enjoyed their evening of dirt track racing entertainment and hopes that you will support the track at every opportunity possible. Thank you so very much!
The next scheduled event at Ponderosa Speedway will be on Friday September 14 and will feature a full racing program for all four weekly division in competition at the track. Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models will be racing for $1,200 to win, Clayton Homes Modifieds will be racing for $600 to win, Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman will be racing for $300 to win, and Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives will be racing for $200 to win (four entries or more). The Late Model, Modified, and Sportsman will time trial, while Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for starting positions. All drivers will need to sign in at the registration window up arrival to the track and RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions.

Activities for the Friday September 14 racing program will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., followed by practice laps at 7:20 p.m. Time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the September 14 racing event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under are free. A pit pass will be $30.
Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday August 24 and feature event winners included Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Ricky Arms of Moss, TN in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Derek Bottoms of Taylorsville, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman. The Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives were not in action.
Current track championship points leaders heading into the Friday September 14 racing event are Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Brandon Holt of New Haven, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.
