Tazewell Speedway welcomes the return of the Southern All-Stars Series on Sunday, September 2, who will sanction this year's Buddy Rogers Memorial 44. It is the series' first visit to Tazewell Speedway since 2006.

Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tennessee is the series' points leader and will be looking to win the $4,400 up for grabs. Mike Weeks of Friendsville, Tennessee is second in series points and is hungry for another Tazewell Speedway victory. Also expected are the most recent SAS winner Billy Ogle Jr., Vic Hill, Chad Ogle, Steve Smith, Jason Trammell, Bryan Hendrix, and others.

Also racing on Sunday will be the modified streets, pure streets, and four cylinders. The Tazewell Late Models will NOT be racing.

General admission tickets are $20 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $30, kids 12 and under are $20. Pit gates and grandstand gates open at 5:00. Racing will start at 7:30.

Tazewell Speedway along with Jimmy "Pup" Thomas of Hoosier Tire South will once again be raising money for the American Cancer Society in conjunction with the Buddy Rogers Memorial 44. Drivers, fans, business owners, and anyone else can sponsor a lap for $44 (or more if someone chooses to donate more). A lap board will be kept to display all the names that made donations to this cause. If you or your business would like to sponsor a lap and/or make a donation, contact Pup at 865-806-4459.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
