“Mega-Blitz Mach3” at Hesston Sept. 2 Triple Thrill Includes 3 Super Late Model Series & 3 Late Model Features!
(Hesston, PA) Hesston Speedway will host the finale of a $60,000 Super Late Model 3-race weekend in the region. “Mega-Blitz Mach3” will showcase the Triple Thrill. For the 1st time ever, 3 regional Super Late Model series will converge as the event will fly under the track’s Speedmonster Series, Kennedy Motorsports ULMS and 3 State Flyers banners. “Mega-Blitz” will be Hesston’s final summer race for all divisions leading up to “The Ultimate” $91,000 mammoth event in October.
“Mega-Blitz Mach 3” will feature 3-30 lap late mode-type features. The S³/ULMS/3SF Super Late Models will compete in twin 30 lap features paying $5,100 total to win and $400 total to start, or $2,550 to win, $200 to start each race. The 30 lap championship for the Semi-Late Model Sportsman (limited/crate/steel block late model) class pays $1,000 to win, $125 to start. “Mega-Blitz Mach3 will award double ULMS points for the event with drivers earning full feature points for each race. Speedmonster and 3 State Flyers will award ½ feature points for each race.
“Mega-Blitz Mach3” will also include the “Eriksen Grand Championships” in honor of track founders Sonny & Peggy Eriksen, who opened the track in 1961 as a Sunday night venue. All divisions at Hesston will received bonus payoffs on every position. A-Cadets (street/pro-stock) will race for $600 and Roadrunners (stock fwd 4-cylinders) for $200. Hobby-Modifieds will once again race for $500 to win sponsored by Bedford County Tree & Lawn Solutions of Everett, PA.
Garlock’s Used Cars of Three Springs, PA will sponsor the Pass-Maximum Award for Semi-Late Model Sportsman, A-Cadets, Hobby-Modifieds and Roadrunners. G & R Excavating and Demolition of Tyrone, PA will sponsor the Pass-Maximum Award for the Super Late Models. That award goes to the driver that advances the most positions in the feature race.
At Hesston on Sunday, pit gates will open at 1:30 with grandstands at 4:00. Pill draw cutoff and drivers meeting is exactly at 5:00. The 1st session will start at 5:30 with very short warm-up sessions followed by the Roadrunner feature. Complete track prep will follow. At approximately 7:00 the Cadet heats will be run followed by the program for the late model cars at approximately 7:30. The rain date for Hesston is Monday, September 3. If the Monday rain date is utilized, the Super Late Models will run one 55 lap feature and the Semi-Lates will run 25 laps in order to finish the show at an earlier time.

Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, PA leads the Kennedy Motorsports ULMS point standings over Mike Knight, Jason, DuPont, Matt Lux and Satterlee. “Mega-Blitz Mach 3 will bring together these outstanding groups of top-rated regional drivers.
The 3 State Flyers will invade Bedford Speedway for the 2nd time in 2012 on Friday, Night, August 31 with the 25th running of the “Labor Day Day Classic.” The 55 lap 3 State Flyers Super Late Model feature will pay $5,055 to the winner, $400 to start and $100 for non-qualifiers. Semi-Late (street), Pure Stocks and 4-Cylinders are also on the racing program.
Matt Parks of 3 Springs, PA was the winner of the May 3 State Flyers event at Bedford over a 36 car field. On Friday, Augsut 31 at Bedford, gates open at 5:00 with warm-ups at 6:45 and racing at 7:15. General admission is $20 with kids 12 and under free in the grandstands. Pit admission is $30. The following night, the 3 State Flyers will zoom into the Port Royal Speedway for the 9th “Butch Renninger Memorial” sponsored by No. 1 Cycle Center. The 33 lap feature will pay $3,333 to the winner, $300 to start and $100 for non-qualifiers. Leader lap money of $33/lap will also be awarded bringing the total possible to win up to $4,422. The e will be the opener of the 158th annual Juniata County Fair at the historic track.
Jeff Rine of Danville, PA was the event winner in 2011. 410 Super Sprints, Pro-Stocks and an Enduro dash will also be included in the event at Port Royal.
