Hunter Rasdon Charges to Second Triumph of 2012
Jonesboro, Arkansas (08/28/12) – Hunter Rasdon raced his #r5 Mastersbilt/Jay D1ckens Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified to his second win of the season on Saturday night with a triumph at Clayhill Motorsports (Atwood, Tennessee).
Saturday night was a great outing for Hunter Rasdon as he knocked down his second win of the year by piloting his #r5 Rasdon Motorsports/Country Pleasin Sausage/Mastersbilt/Jay D1ckens Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified to the feature win at Clayhill Motorsports (Atwood, Tennessee). Nineteen competitors entered the event, and after finishing second in his heat race he started fifth in the main event. As the race went green he began working his way forward before taking over the lead on lap 12. Once out front he never looked back on his way to the victory, which came over Matt Cooper, Robby Arnold, Jonathan Rowland, and Ronnie Vernon. "We went to Clayhill with the intent of doing some testing for next week's big Modified show, and I really think we hit on something because our car was a rocket ship in the feature. Hopefully we'll be just as fast next weekend with the big money on the line," commented Rasdon.
Rasdon Motorsports will return to Clayhill Motorsports this weekend, August 30th through September 1st, for the 4th Annual Open Wheel Modified Motor Madness event. On Thursday evening an open practice session will be held, while Friday and Saturday night will see complete programs contested each night with a $5,000-to-win/$500-to-start purse on the line for the competitors. In 2011 Hunter won the opening night and finished third on the second night. He hopes to enjoy similar success this weekend.
