Josh McGuire Claims Ninth Victory of Season at Skyline; Busy Holiday Weekend Ahead!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire racked up his ninth feature win of the 2012 racing season on Friday night, August 24 at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio! Continuing his mastery of the Buckeye State oval, Josh laid down the seventh fastest lap during the qualifying session and later won his heat race in preliminary action. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lap AMRA main event, Josh grabbed the point around the halfway mark of the race and never looked back. The Grayson, Kentucky ace claimed the $3,000 triumph over Jackie Boggs, Rick Williams, Travis Brookover, and Chris Garnes!

On Saturday evening, August 25, the #41 team traveled to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a $2,000 to win weekly show. Josh timed in third quickest during qualifying and later ran third in the dash. The popular driver known as "Bad Fast" started the A-Main from the inside of the second row and advanced up to second to finish a strong runner-up behind only winner Jackie Boggs. Complete results from the doubleheader weekend can be accessed online at www.skylinespeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

“We had a great weekend highlighted by our win at Skyline on Friday night,” stated McGuire earlier this week. “The track at Skyline got nice and slick, just how I like it, and I was able to drive up through there and get the win. Then at Portsmouth, we had a fast car there as well, but just went a little too hard on tires in the feature. It was a good lesson learned and hopefully we can pick the right tires at PRP this weekend. There is a lot of good money on the line at Portsmouth and I-77 this weekend and maybe we can run up front and put ourselves in position to compete for a victory!”

The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team hopes to continue their winning ways this upcoming weekend in a huge Labor Day weekend (August 31-September 2) tripleheader in the states of Ohio and West Virginia. Up first will be a trip to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Friday and Saturday. An unsanctioned $7,000 to win show will kick things off tomorrow night, while the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolls into PRP on Saturday to sanction a $10,000 to win program. The triple shot of racing action will then conclude with the $25,000 to win ‘Hillbilly 100’ on Sunday at the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia.
