Lake Cumberland Speedway Off September 8; Super Late Models $3,000 to win September 15

Burnside, KY-September 2, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff will take off for the World 100 and there will be no racing at the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval on Saturday September 8, but racing will return in a big way on Saturday September 15 as the Super Late Model division will be racing for $3,000 to win, with Modifieds racing for $800 to win.

The Saturday September 15 racing event will feature the Super Late Model division racing 40 laps for $3,000 to win in their main event. The Modified division will also be in competition and will race 20 laps for $800 to win in their division’s feature race contest. Joining the Super Late Models and Modifieds on the Saturday September 15 racing program will be the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman racing 15 laps for $300 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing 10 laps for $100 (8 car minimum). The Super Late Model division will have a $40 entry fee for this event. The Super Late Model and Modified divisions will time trial, while the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman and Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for heat race starting positions. All divisions will also have qualifying heats to set their respective divisions feature event line-up.

Activities for the Saturday September 15 racing event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m. Practice is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday September 15 racing event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 10, and children ages 5 and under will be free. A pit pass will be $35.

Lake Cumberland Speedway last presented racing competition on Saturday August 25 and feature event winners that evening included Dillan White of Crofton, KY in Super Late Models, Ricky Arms of Moss, TN in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman, and Scott Tomlinson of Somerset, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Track championship division point leaders at Lake Cumberland Speedway heading into the Saturday September 15 include Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Rusty Light of Nancy, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
