Bumper Jones wins CLMA race at Aztec 9/1/12

Results for the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Preseneted by Indy Screen Print at Aztec Speedway 9/1/12

One of the best modified drivers in the southwest part of the country, Bumper Jones, of Las Cruces, NM, was offered a ride in Steve Lewis's #19 Mastersbilt this weekend for the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Preseneted by Indy Screen Print and he made the best of it. Bumper drove the #19 to his 2nd career win in three starts with the series.

After winning the third heat race of the night Bumper Jones would start in the 3rd starting spot for the A-Main. It only took Jones 1 lap to make his way around front row starters, Brad Shelton and Andy Hockenhull. Once Bumper took the lead he would never look back. His teamate Scott Lewis of Henderson, CO would make his way to 2nd and challange Bumper several times but could never make the pass. Lewis would end up 2nd. Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, NM would challange Lewis several times for the runner up spot but on the last last he would slide up the track and give up 3rd place to John Hansen of Ft. Morgan, CO. Jason Davis of Grand Junction, Co would round out the top 5.
