Tony Knowles Tops Dixie Foes for Fourth Win of 2012

Tyrone, Georgia (09/04/12) – Tony Knowles powered his #26 RSD Enterprises/SAE Parts/Rocket/Malcuit Racing Engine Super Late Model to his fourth win of the 2012 season on Saturday night with a victory at Dixie Speedway.

Tony Knowles Racing took part in a pair of events over the course of the Labor Day weekend in his home state of Georgia.

The weekend opened on Saturday evening at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia), where twenty-one Super Late Models registered for action in a Weekly Racing Series Event. Qualifications earned Tony the third starting spot for the feature event, and he would quickly work his way to the lead in the feature before going on to record his fourth win of the 2012 campaign. Tyler Millwood, Ronnie Johnson, Ivedent Lloyd, and Frank Thurman rounded out the top five. Full results from the event are available at www.DixieSpeedway.com .

On Sunday night the action shifted to Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the $4,000-to-win, Rome Boss Super Late Model Championship atop the 4/10 mile, high-banked oval. Twenty-six Super Late Models entered the event, and struggles in time trials left Knowles starting twentieth on the grid for the 50 lap finale. During the first half of the race Knowles would work his way to the eleventh position, and that's where he would be scored, when the race was declared complete after rains arrived at the oval at lap 27. Full results from the program are available at www.DixieSpeedway.com/Rome .

"With my limited racing schedule over the past few months, due to staying busy with the family business, it really feels good to be able to win against a strong field of cars. Sunday night at Rome I put us in a bad spot after struggling in time trials, but we had a good car in the feature, and I think we had a shot at a top five if the race had not been shortened by rain," commented Knowles.

The team's plans for the upcoming weekend are once again up in the air as Tony has another busy week of work with his family's business scheduled. If his schedule allows he plans to race. Please visit www.TonyKnowles26.com for the team's latest plans.
