Chad Simpson Slays Foes at Deer Creek; Nabs Third Straight Corn Belt Clash Title!

(MOUNT VERNON, IOWA) Mount Vernon, Iowa ace Chad Simpson captured his fourth checkered flag of the 2012 racing season on Saturday, September 1 at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring, Valley, Minnesota! Chad beat brother Chris Simpson, Tim Isenberg, Jason Rauen, and Denny Eckrich to the checkers to claim the $3,000 top prize in the Corn Belt Clash showdown. The #25 team then followed the CBC tour to the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa on Sunday, September 2 for the $3,000 to win season finale. Chad recorded a strong runner-up effort at Cresco behind only race winner Jason Rauen. Full results can be viewed at www.cornbeltclash.com.

Aided by his one-two finish over the Labor Day holiday weekend, Chad nabbed his third straight Corn Belt Clash Series Championship! He was a model of consistency throughout the 2012 CBC tour, as he racked up four wins, thirteen Top Fives, and fifteen Top Tens in the sixteen series races. Remarkably, this year’s Corn Belt Clash title is Chad’s seventh Championship overall in the last six seasons!

“Our year started out a little slow, but we have really picked it up over the past several months,” quoted Simpson recently via telephone. “I have to thank Bud and Denise Brinkman and all of my sponsors, Andy Campion and my crew, my family, and just everyone involved with our Brinkman Motorsports team. Three Corn Belt Clash titles in a row is a pretty cool deal and hopefully the success we have had the past couple of months will propel us into a strong end to our season. There are still some big races left on our schedule, including Eldora this weekend, and we would love to have a strong showing during the World 100.”

Next up for the #25 Brinkman Motorsports team will be a trip to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 7-8 for the 42nd Annual ‘World 100.’ Qualifying will take place on Friday night at the “Big E,” while heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap main event are all slated for Saturday evening. The victor of this year’s prestigious ‘World 100’ will receive $45,000 for his efforts. Additional information on the extravaganza at Eldora can be accessed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.
