Jamaica, VA – Preparations are being made for the USA 100 weekend at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway and this year the event gets an upgrade that fans and competitors alike will enjoy.

After the success of last year’s event the USA 100 will get a boost in purse and now will be a two-day $20,000 to win event. But that will not be the only change for the 2012 edition of the USA 100 at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA.

After consulting with many of the modified competitors that have competed in the modified portion of the prestigious event over the last couple of year’s and taking suggestions from the fans officials have schedule two complete shows for the open modified division with each show paying $1500 to win and $125 to start. In the event that the Friday portion of the weekend is lost to weather the event will then become a $3000 to win one day event.

Each night the modified division will run group qualifying, heats, B-Main(s) and a 25 lap feature. With the event going to a two-day show it offers the fans a tremendous amount of racing on Friday night as well as Saturday.

Registration fee for the modified two shows will be $50 for the weekend, with pit passes also being $50.

This year’s Mod Madness Twin 25’s will allow AMRA, UMP, IMCA, TSMA, NDRA rules. Because of the open rules some of the best modified competitors on the East Coast are expected to be in attendance.

“We are extremely excited to have the open modifieds back as a support division this year; by allowing multiple sanction rules we should see some new faces racing for the big money,” added Sawyer.

The purse for each of the Mod Madness 25 lap features will be: 1. $1,500; 2. $875; 3. $700; 4. $600; 5. $550; 6. $450; 7. $400; 8. $350 9. $300; 10. $250; 11. $240; 12. $225; 13. $180; 14. $150; 15. $145; 16. $145; 17. $140; 18. $140; 19. $135; 20. $135; 21. $ 130; 22. $130; 23- 26 $125.

Ernie Shelton’s USA 100 format will see the Lucas Oil Late Model competitors competing in hot laps, group qualifying and two 25 lap qualifiers on Friday September 14th along with the full program for the modifieds. On Saturday September 15th the modifieds will compete in a full program along with the Lucas Oil Late Models running last chance qualifiers and the 50 lap $20,000 to win finale.

The speedway will once again provided fans with a top-flight show for very favorable ticket prices. Adults two-day tickets are $35.00 while seniors (60+) are $28.00; military (active and retired) are $25; students 7-17 are $15.00 and children Under 6 are FREE. Two-day Pit passes will be $50.00.
