CARTERSVILLE, GA – Tony Lawson of Laurel, MS, Chase Washington of Houlka, MS and Ryan King of Seymour, TN were the big winners in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 24 competition. There is now a tie for the point lead between Washington and Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA who both have 796 points.

Lawson won a pair of races at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS on Saturday night driving the Lawson Construction Special and moved up to the 15th spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings and remains alive for a Top 10 spot and a share of the point fund.

Washington picked up his 13th win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Jerry Inmon Racing Special and net one point to move up and tie Trosclair for the point lead. Trosclair did not net any points during Week 24 competition.

Using the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series tie-breaker system, Washington would technically have the point lead. The tie-breaker system consists of total number of 50-point wins during the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS season. Washington has 12 50-point wins and Trosclair has 11 50-point wins. If the numbers of wins are tied, then the system uses 49-point second-place finishes.

King picked up his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN driving the Brian King Roofing Stinger. King netted two points to bring his best 14-week point total up to 792 and take over sole possession of third-place in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings.

Jeremy Shaw of Millport, AL in the Summit Resource Development Trak-Star is tied with Duke Palasini of Leland, MS for the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series points chase with 790 points. The Top 6 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings still have a mathematical chance to win the $10,000 Championship with three weeks left in the 2012 season. There are still 23 drivers with a mathematical chance to finish in one of the points fund paying Top 10 spots in the standings.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 784 points. Arnold finished second on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway driving the Billy Riels Racing/Reynolds Motorsports GRT to net two points.
