33rd Annual Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway Set for September 21 and 22
BROWNSTOWN, IN (September 11, 2012) One of the Midwests traditional and most popular events the Jackson 100 is set for Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN. The event will again be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will pay $20,000 to win. This years event is sponsored by Industrial Solutions Technology out of Columbus, IN.
Activity will get underway on Friday Night, September 21st with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series hot laps and Red Buck Cigar Time Trials. Also on the race program Friday will be UMP Modifieds and the Inaugural Jackson 50 for the Indiana Late Model Series. On Saturday, September 22nd action will include the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heat Races, B-Mains and the 33rd Annual Jackson 100 feature event. Also racing on Saturday Night will be the UMP Modifieds and Super Stocks.
Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN will attempt to become the first driver in the history of the event which dates back to 1980 to win the Jackson 100 three straight years. Last year Bloomquist became the first 4-time winner of the prestigious race.
Bloomquist will lead the roster of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series stars into the Jackson 100. Reigning series champion and current points leader, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN, 3-time Jackson 100 winner, Don ONeal of Martinsville, IN, Brownstown track record holder, Steve Francis of Ashland, KY and 2-time series winner in 2012, John Blankenship of Williamson, WV will be joined by 09 Jackson winner, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, leading rookie of the year candidate, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA, 16-year-old phenom, Tyler Red(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) of Corning, CA, Eric Wells of Hazard, KY, and Jared Landers of Batesville, AR.
