Linville, England, Bertram, and Gregory Fan Appreciation Night Winners at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY-September 14, 2012- Ponderosa Speedway returned to action after a two-week layoff and it would be Fan Appreciation Night with $6 general admission and $1 hotdogs all night long. Feature event winners for the evening were Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Goble Bertram of Monticello, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Adam Gregory of Gray, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.

After two false starts, the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Model feature would finally get underway and go caution-free for the 25 lap race distance and Dustin Linville and Justin Rattliff would battle for the race lead on the opening, with Linville coming away with the race lead. Linville would build up a sizable lead throughout the course of the event and would survive a couple of scares in lapped traffic in the final five laps to capture the win aboard the Terry Linville owned 4B Motorsports/Weld Shop/ Maco Service Company/Fast Wax/Wicked Racing Supply/Graphic Impressions/Paul Benton Auto Body/Pinetop Motors/Puckett Automotive/McElliott Trucking/G.A. Parsons/Hawkeye Trucking/ JumpStart Communications/Linville’s Finish Carpentry/Bruce and Vicki Barnes/Cookie Monster Power Plants sponsored #D8 Swartz Race Car powered by a Bullock Race Engine. Rattliff would finish second, with Mike Marlar taking third. Michael Chilton would scoot by Jeff Rawlings for fourth late in the race, while Rawlings would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Jeff Watson, Clarence Belcher, Tommy Carlton, Wesley Brummett, and James Rice. Eighteen entries would see Linville also be top qualifier at 13.374 seconds and also win a heat, while Rattliff would be the other Country 100.9 MIKE FM heat race winner.

The 20 lap Clayton Homes Modified feature race event would be a caution-filled affair that would see third-place starting Michael England survive a pair of late race restarts to take the checkered flag first and visit victory lane behind the wheel of the Kerry Trowbridge owned Automotive Specialists/Tri-County Oil/Gary Johnson Heating and Air sponsored #16 Lightning Chassis, Mullins Race Engine powered entry. Benji Lee would claim runner-up honors, while Tommy Bailey would finish in the third position. Jimmy Payne and Ricky Arms would round out the top five. Don Adams would head up the second five at the finish, with 22nd starting Bryan Barber, early race leader Mikah Reams, Josh Rice, and Joe David Turner rounding out the top ten. Twenty-seven entries would see Lee be the top qualifier at 14.700 seconds, while Smith Automotive Machine Shop heat race victories were scored by Reams, Payne, and England.

Bartley Grant and Goble Bertram would trade the lead a total of five times in the first five laps of the Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care 15 lap feature event before Bertram would secure the lead for good on lap 6 and would never look back in picking up his first win of the season at Ponderosa Speedway in the seat of his Goble’s Body and Radiator Shop/Bell’s Storage/Turner Road Boring sponsored #20 Chevy Camaro powered by a Corder’s Race Engine. Grant would settle for the second position at the finish, while Jeremy Howard, Glenn Hounshell, Jr. and Donnie Sullivan would round out the top five. Completing the top ten would be Derek Bottoms, Daniel Howard, Eli Meredith, Steve Rector, and David Murphy. Sixteen entries would see Grant also be top qualifier at 16.104 seconds and win a heat, while Bertram would take the checkered flag in the other Central Painting heat.

The Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drive feature would see Adam Gregory take control in the early stages of the event and pick up his second win of the season in the division driving his Friends of Coal sponsored #22 machine. Rodney Foltz would score a second place finish, while first-time visitors T.J. Daulton, Kyle Ashcraft, and Michael Gemmer would complete the top five. Eight entries would see Charles Burton pick up the Airport Road Salvage Yard heat victory.
