I saw a car at the track with his right rear tethered. I was told this was popular on late models a few years ago. What is the reason for this? What does it do? The car was 4 bar on both sides.

Helps mostly in the slick. Allows you to set how much the right side can climb onto the bars. Basically kills the rr drive, can make the car very twitchy tight off. On the mods we run chains, set between 3/4 and an inch.

set the chain up so it has only 3/4 to 1inch of slack when the the car is sitting at ride height. I tried it after reading an article about it dmm and I love it. I unhook it when the track is heavy but run the chain all the time otherwise
