Richmond Raceway’s Season Championships THIS Saturday, September 22!

RICHMOND, KY (September 16, 2012)-Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett close out the 2012 season and the closest points battle in their three year promotion of the Madison County facility this Saturday night, September 22.

In the Coyote 100.7 FM Late Model division, 200 points separates Mount Sterling, Kentucky’s Aaron Hatton and Jason Barrett of Waco, KY. With five feature event wins this season, Delane Browning of East Bernstadt, KY leads Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY by only 35 points. While John Cole of Berea, KY has scored four feature event wins in the Sportsman division, Irvine, Kentucky’s Ricky Brandenburg, Jr.’s consistency puts him atop the leader board by 220 points over Cole.

Glen Hounshell, Sr. of Paint Lick, KY continues to dominate the Road Hog division as Derek Thornsburg of Carlisle, KY leads the Four Cylinder division into the final points event of the 2012 season.

A full program of racing is on tap in all divisions on September 22. The Coyote 100.7 FM Late Models in a $1,000 to win main event. The Open Wheel Modifieds in a $600 to win main event. The Sportsman in a $350 to win main event with the Road Hogs in a $150 to win main event followed by the Four Cylinders in a $100 to win main event.

The pit area opens at 4:30 p.m. on followed by the grandstand area at 6:00 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6:45 p.m. Grandstand admission for this special event is $12 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6 through 12. Pit Admission is $30 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 through 12. Kids ages 5 and under are admitted FREE to Richmond Raceway.

Richmond Raceway last raced on Saturday, September 1. Feature event winners that night included Victor Lee of Danville, KY in the Coyote 100.7 FM Late Models, Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY in the Open Wheel Modifieds, Ricky Brandenburg, Jr. of Irvine, KY in the Sportsman, Johnny King of Lancaster, KY in the Road Hogs, and Brian Ferguson in the Four Cylinders.
