Eddie Carrier Jr. Claims Pair of Podium Finishes; Jackson 100 Next

Salt Rock, West Virginia (09/17/12) – Eddie Carrier Jr. was back in action over the weekend in a pair of special events in Ohio and West Virginia in his #28 Grover Motorsports/Engines Inc./Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The weekend opened on Saturday night at Skyline Speedway (Stewart, Ohio) with a $5,000-to-win event, which was sanctioned by AMRA tour. Thirty-one Super Late Models entered the event, and early in the feature Eddie would make a run to the front of the pack, but would be unable to take control of the lead. He would battle in the top three for the majority of the event before crossing the finish line in third behind race winner, Josh McGuire, and Rod Conley. Full results are available at www.SkylineSpeedway.net .

On Sunday evening the team traveled to West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, West Virginia) for the $3,000-to-win, 1st Annual Buzzy Topless Classic 30 atop the newly, reconfigured oval. The American Dirt Racing Association (ADRA) sanctioned the event, and Carrier Jr. started the night by blasting to fast time honors to lock into an eight car dash to determine the starting order for the top four rows for the feature. Unfortunately Eddie would draw the eighth starting spot for the dash and would only be able to advance to a sixth place finish. His dash finish left him starting sixth on the grid for the feature event. During the course of the feature he would advance four spots to a second place finish behind race winner, Donnie Moran. Full results from the event are available at www.WVSpeedway.com .

"We had a good car all weekend, but we just came up a little short of getting a win. I'm still happy with our performances though, and hopefully next weekend I can grab a $20,000 win at Brownstown," noted Carrier Jr.

Next on tap for Grover Motorsports will be a trip to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) this weekend, September 21st-22nd, for the 33rd Annual Jackson 100. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) will sanction the $20,000-to-win event at the legendary, 1/4 mile oval. Time trials will be held on Saturday night, while heat races, consolation events, and the 100 lap finale will be held on Saturday night.
