I had a thought about lengthening my LR spring 4bar left z link right LR spring behind, my question is if I have a x amount 13 inch LR spring and I want to go to a 16 inch spring to keep the spring on the perch during hike up and while on the bars, would I increase x rate with a taller spring or go softer? Thanks

say you have a 13" 200lb spring and at full lift it comes off the spring, you will need to go softer if you go to a 16". id say a 175 or 150.
For example if your LR weighs 600lbs, that 13" spring is compressed 3". A 16" 200lb spring will also be compressed 3" so they both will come off the spring where as a 150 will be compressed 4" so that will help keep the car on the spring at full lift

Chris is right....
you have to drop the spring rate to keep it on the spring....length only matters if you get into coil bind... ( short springs loaded so much the coils touch)
Go 16" and around 150 or 125.... I have tried both on a 09 shaw.....
DON'T MESS WITH THE 20" SPRINGS....
trust me... I spent a bunch of time messing with the 20" springs....ended up with a 16" ....
