The 2012 Race Season will take the checkered flag on Friday, September 28th when Paducah International Raceway hosts the first ever Barbecue 100 in conjunction with the 18th annual Barbecue on the River along with the Season Championships. Fans will be in for 100 combined laps of non-stop action as track co-owner Ken Schrader returns to mix it up with local favorites. A huge fireworks display will also follow the races. Pit Gates open at 4:00 PM. Grandstands open at 5:00 PM. Hot Laps at 6:30 PM. Qualifying at 7:00 PM, and Racing at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for Adults. Children 12 and under are Free. Pit Admission is $30.
Four of six Championships have already been decided. Current Super Late Model points leader Tim Brown heads into the $1,500 to win 25-Lap Feature with a 65-point advantage over second place and former UMP National Champion Randy Sellars. Brown’s son, Cameron, will also head into the $600 to win 20 Lap Pro (Crate) Late Model Feature with his Championship bid sealed- with both father and son realizing their dream of Track Championships. Former 4-Cylinder Warrior and Street Stock Champion JR Mason clinched his first Modified Track Championship earlier in the season and will head into the 20-Lap $1,000 to win Feature with a 178-point advantage over second place Jeff Elliott. Former Street Stock Champion Mike Watson will once again represent his division having maintained the points lead for the entire season. Street Stocks will battle it out in a 20-Lap Feature with $250 going home with the winner. 2010 4-Cylinder Warrior Champion Kyle Clark currently holds a mere four point lead over second place Mat Hartman. These two will wage a fight to the finish in a $150 to win15 Lap 4-Cylinder Warrior Feature sponsored by James Smith Heating and Cooling, Battery Outlet and Tires, Paducah Warehouse Furniture, and Charlie Barker’s Used Cars. In High School Warrior action, AJ Keeling sits in the top spot with a 16-point advantage over second place Daniel Edwards as both vie for their first Track Championship. The Kentucky Vintage will also be running their season championships.
