Booper Bare Records all Top 10’s Throughout the Winchester 200 Weekend. Natural Bridge’s Fall Classic up Next…

With a chill in the air, the Harbaugh Motorsports team unloaded the Ajax Amusement Machine sponsored, MBH super late model this past weekend at the Winchester Speedway in Winchester Virginia. On tap was the prestigious Winchester 200, featuring time trials and a couple of extra distance qualifying heat races, cumulating with a $3,500 to win, 35 lap feature on Friday, followed up with the 50 Lap, $8,000 to win Winchester 200 on Saturday night. When Booper arrived at the track on Friday evening, he was greeted with a touching gesture as the Harbaugh’s had re-lettered the car and replaced the team’s usual number 87 with a 00, the number that the veteran has made famous during his illustrious career.

With 45 of the region’s best teams in attendance, qualifying became a big factor during the weekend’s activities. With your time trial run on Friday, becoming the time you had to stand on for both nights; Booper toured the speedway in 14.68 seconds, good enough for 13th overall. That qualifying run was good enough to lock Booper into the $3,500 to win feature. Rolling off 13th, Booper would be able to advance 7 positions on a track that was for the most part, one groove and tough to pass on. At the end of the 35 laps, Booper had brought the Harbaugh Amusement mount home with a well earned 6th place.

Saturday saw bright sun and breezy conditions that played havoc with the track surface all night. First up would be a 25 lap qualifying race which would see the top 12 transferring to the Winchester 200. Booper would take the green from the 7th position and bring home his second 6th place run of the weekend. Up next was the 2012 edition of the Winchester 200. Booper would strap in the Bob & Diane Harbaugh owned #00 and start the 50 lap feature from the 11th starting spot. The race would for the most part, be an uneventful, follow the leader type of race with little to no passing. Booper would race hard for 50 laps and advance to a 9th place finish in the final rundown.

“It was a pretty good weekend considering how tough the track was to pass on” said Booper from his Rockbridge County, Virginia race shop. “I was extremely touched and honored that Duane had Funky put a #00 on their race car for the races we are running together, I just wish we could have gotten it closer to the front. We were just a little tight all weekend and then had a tire seal up midway through Saturday’s feature. Bob, Diane & Duane are just fun people to drive for. There is no pressure and they are always willing to do whatever it takes to make the car better. Bob, Duane and the crew worked hard all weekend and I can’t thank them enough. I would love nothing better than to go to Natural Bridge next weekend and give them a win” added Bare.

Next up for The Harbaugh Motorsports #00 will be the $10,000 to win 7th annual Sunoco Fall Classic at the Natural Bridge Speedway on October 5th & 6th. Booper is a 2 time Sunoco Fall Classic champion, having won this race in 2007 & 2008.

Booper would like to thank all of the Harbaugh sponsors for this great opportunity:
