I've run the Race Engineering short block with their Race Pro rods for 4 seasons with no issues. rebuild after each season but kept the same rods. turning 7500 consistently with no problems.

Are these billet or forged rods? Manley has various types of rods available that range from sportsman forged rods that are ~200hp.@8000RPM capable all the way up to 300hp@9000RPM capable billet rods. I guess it just depends on what you have, and your application.

What style of rod construction, forged or Billet?
What rod journal?
What weight Rod?
What is your max RPM?
What is your piston weight?
What is your stroke?
What type of cylinderhead/ intake setup are you running?
Is the extra $500 for nice billet rods going to fit in your budget?

All these things and more are involved in choosing the "best" rod for your particular application.

Just watch out for any rod over 550grams.
They're over built imho if they weigh more.
