American Modified Series Championship Weekend Goes October 12 at Moler, October 13 at Florence
Glasgow, KY-October 2, 2012- The American Modified Series is set to close out its 2012 racing campaign with the tour’s annual Championship Weekend which will take place on Friday October 12 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and Saturday October 13 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.
On Friday October 12 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and a $1,500 to win/$200 to start A-Main event. Also on the racing card at Moler Raceway Park as part of the Molerfest event on Friday October 12 will be Late Models ($1,500 to win), Chevettes, and Crazy Compacts.
Moler Raceway Park October 12, 2012 A-Main Payout: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $750, 3rd- $600, 4th- $550, 5th- $500, 6th- $450, 7th- $400, 8th- $350, 9th- $325, 10th- $300, 11th- $275, 12th- $250, 13th- $230, 14th- $220, 15th through 22nd- $200 to start
On Saturday October 13 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $5,000 to win/$250 to start Championship A-Main event, the richest event in American Modified Series history. Also on the racing card at Florence Speedway as part of the Fall 50 event will be Late Models ($5,000 to win).

The American Modified Series last competed on Saturday September 22 at 191 Speedway in Campton, KY and Lightning Chassis builder Don Adams of London, KY would find victory lane at that event. Trent Young of Hopkinsville, KY is the current series points leader, while Glasgow, KY native Jimmy Payne and Rocky Wilson of Elizabethtown, KY are currently second and third in series points and still have the mathematical chance of winning the series title.
The American Modified Series will present UMP Modified sanctioned dirt track sports entertainment at racing venues throughout Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee.
