I'm considering building a Mopar motor for an A mod but cant seem to find anyone else that has or does. Just trying to get an idea...of what I need to be able to compete with the chevy's and fords.

It can be done. A friend of mine is a die hard Mopar man and I run against him weekly in IMCA. He is a top runner here in the Eastern region.

I'm not a big Mopar guy. I know it's a 340 block. I think the heads are W2 Race Heads.

you can put a 4 inch stroke crake in a 360 block and get a 408 cuin motor with a good cam and ported rhs heades 600 hp/500 plus ib-ft of torque. not bad for a mod motor and those rhs heads are cast iron.

I was wondering how well one of those would do the 408. But then I went to looking for a cast head and couldnt find anything compareable to a 23 degree head.

I have a smallblock from Bill Richardson of Ram Racing engines Lynchburg VA. Its a 360 with EQ iron ram heads. Bill is a Mopar only engine builder and in my opinion second to none. I ran 28 races this year and won 8 races and the points. Turned the motor 7500 every race and only changed the oil. Never took the valve cover off or changed spark plugs. Drove a couple of chebby boys nuts.

joey arringtons motor won the campionship in limited sportsman last year at 311 with 11 wins after the chevys cryed to the point of track adding a 100lbs to the mopar! a .60 360! arrington is up to date with all the race head designs for mopar an has a room of dyno sheets to back up 30 years of mopar circle track motor building
