CLMA DIRTcar Series at Caney, KS 10/12 & 10/13

The Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print will be running its last two races of the 2012 season on Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th at the fast 1/4 mile Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, KS. Both nights of racing will be run "Topless". Fridays show will pay $1,200 to win and $225 to start and Saturdays show will pay $1,500 to win and $250 to start. We are hoping for good car counts and two great nights of racing to finsih out the 2012 season strong!!!

When the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print runs its last two races of the 2012 season at Caney Valley Speedway on October 12th & 13th it will also be the last two races of the 2012 season for the DIRTcar Western Region. The DIRTcar Western Region Championship is up for grabs and it will come down to the last race between 2011 DIRTcar Western Region Champion, Garrett Alberson and 2010 DIRTcar Western Region Champion, Justin Wells. There are several other spots in the top 25 in points that are up for grabs and because of this there will be about 20 of the top 25 drivers in DIRTcar Western Region Points at these last two races.

One of the top drivers in the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print and the DIRTcar Western Region this year has been Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, NM. Alberson will be making the long trip to Caney, KS to race with the CLMA DIRTcar Series on October 12th & 13th to try and wrap up his 1st career CLMA DIRTcar Series Cahmpionship and his 2nd straight DIRTcar Western Region Championship. In 2012 Garrett has won 2 CLMA DIRTcar Southern Series races and 12 DIRTcar Weekly LM races between Southern New Mexico Speedway and El Paso Speedway Park. Garrett is leading the CLMA DIRTcar Southern Series points by 29 points over Scott Lewis and the DIRTcar Western Region Points by 75 over Justin Wells coming into this weekends races.

Alberson's teamate and car owner, Dave Deetz will also be making the trip from Las Cruces, NM to race with the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print at Caney Valley Speedway. Dave is currently sitting 3rd in points in the CLMA DIRTcar Southern Series and 3rd in points in the DIRTcar Western Region. Dave has had several top 5 finishes this year with the CLMA DIRTcar Series and 1 DIRTcar Weekly LM win at Southern New Mexico Speedway.

Both of these drivers should have a chance to win both nights this weekend at Caney Valley Speedway.

When the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print races at Caney Valley Speedway on October 12th & 13th the driver that everyone will be out to beat will be Justin Wells of Aurora, Missouri. In 2012 Wells already has 7 DIRTcar Weekly LM wins at Caney Valley Speedway, including the last 5 straight. He also won 4 DIRTcar Weekly LM races and the track championship at Monett Speedway in 2012. Wells has also ran very well with the MARS DIRTcar Series in 2012 with a hand full of top 5 finishes with the series.
